Meet Bryan, a dedicated member of Graviton for a little over three years!

As a medical device engineer, Bryan balances a busy, sedentary work life with his passion for fitness. Outside of the gym, he enjoys exploring his creative side through pottery and has recently taken up aeroponics. “It’s like hydroponics, but instead of the plants being in the water, you spray a mist at the roots so they’re hanging in the air,” Bryan explains.

When Bryan moved back to Massachusetts, he was on the lookout for a new gym. “I had just moved back…and I was looking for a gym that was in the area,” he recalls. Having tried several CrossFit gyms, Bryan ultimately chose Graviton because of its unique atmosphere. “I just really liked the workout that I had going on here and I liked how it was a little bit of a less competitive vibe than some of the other gyms that I was going to.”

Over the years, Bryan’s reasons for staying at Graviton have evolved. “I liked doing the powerlifting, but sometimes you just keep doing something for a long time and it can feel monotonous. I like how this programming [at Graviton] continues to change and evolve as Graviton grows and depending on what new science is out there.” This variety keeps Bryan motivated and engaged, preventing the routine from feeling repetitive.

Bryan’s fitness journey is rooted in maintaining an active lifestyle. “I workout just to stay healthy and active. My work is really sedentary, so I try to move around as much as possible.” To break up his workday, Bryan has found the perfect routine: “I usually take the 12:15pm class now to help me break up the work day a little bit.”

His consistency and hard work have paid off, with his biggest achievement being an impressive increase in his deadlift. “I was able to increase my 1 rep max by 90 pounds over the last year…My deadlift is 485lbs,” he shares proudly. Beyond the numbers, Bryan’s mindset around fitness has also shifted. “Since joining Graviton I’ve really thought about my health more broadly. Before when I was younger I was really just trying to lift as much weight as possible and now I try to think a lot more about longevity.”

For Bryan, one of the standout benefits of Graviton is the structured programming. “The best part about being a member at Graviton is that everything is set for you. You’re set up to succeed. You come in and there’s a warm-up, stretches, the whole workout is there for you…so you don’t have to think a lot about what you’re going to do that day.” This structure has been a game-changer for his consistency, helping him avoid the aimless workouts that previously hindered his progress.

Bryan also appreciates the supportive and welcoming community at Graviton. “I love the coaches, everyone is super nice. There’s no ego here at the gym and the most important thing is safety.” Having experienced other gyms where safety wasn’t prioritized, Bryan values the emphasis on proper form and injury prevention at Graviton.

Bryan’s journey at Graviton is a powerful example of how fitness is more than just physical gains—it's about growth, community, and a balanced approach to health. His dedication, combined with Graviton’s supportive environment, has not only helped him achieve impressive milestones but also transformed his perspective on longevity and wellness. We’re grateful to have Bryan as an inspiring member of our community.
